Canadian Hurricane Centre English Homepage
Overlooking Halifax Harbour from atop Queen Square in downtown Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, the Canadian Hurricane Centre (CHC) is part of the Maritimes Weather Centre (MWC), a division of the Meteorological Service of Canada - Atlantic Region. The CHC exists to advise Canadians on the threat of hurricanes and tropical storms. The Centre also serves to provide guidance to weather centres in all regions potentially affected by one of these storms.

National Hurricane Center - Tropical Prediction Center (TPC)
The mission of the Tropical Prediction Center (TPC) is to save lives and protect property by issuing watches, warnings, forecasts, and analyses of hazardous weather conditions in the tropics. TPC products are generated for use in both the domestic and international communities.

National Severe Storms Laboratory
The National Severe Storms Laboratory is one of NOAA's internationally known research laboratories, leading the way in investigations of all aspects of severe weather. Headquartered in Norman OK with staff in Colorado, Nevada, Washington, Utah, and Wisconsin, the people of NSSL, in partnership with the National Weather Service, are dedicated to improving severe weather warnings and forecasts in order to save lives and reduce property damage.

Storm Prediction Center
The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) is part of the National Weather Service (NWS) and the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). Our mission is to provide timely and accurate forecasts and watches for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes over the contiguous United States. The SPC also monitors heavy rain, heavy snow, and fire weather events across the U.S. and issues specific products for those hazards. We use the most advanced technology and scientific methods available to achieve this goal.
